Planning Time Off Together
- We're happy to support your time off! Please loop in your manager for approval—this helps us ensure smooth coverage and that everyone stays connected. We do our best to say yes to requests.
- When taking time off or you’re out sick, please make sure to add it to both your personal calendar and the team-wide OOO calendar ahead of time.
- For longer breaks (more than a few days): help your teammates support you by creating a simple handoff doc with →
- What you're working on and key deadlines
- Who's kindly covering each area (and make sure they feel prepared!)
- How to reach you if something truly urgent comes up
- Share ahead of time to help us plan and avoid surprises:
- 1 day off → share at least 3 days before
- 2-4 days off → share at least 2 weeks before
- 1 week+ off → share at least 1 month before
- Time off typically runs up to a week. Planning something longer? Let's talk early to set you up for a great break!
- No need to announce it publicly in Slack, but please do give a heads-up to the teammates you work with most closely in good time — so folks are aware and not left hanging.
